Playing pool at the sports page on karaoke night and after I sang a song he came up to me and told me he liked my voice, that it was very soothing, I thought that to be one of the best complements anyone ever said to me, coming from such a kind and thoughtful guy I appreciated even more. Rest in peace Bill I will always smile when I think of you and how kind hearted you always were. Condolences to your family especially jeri ann who I've known because she was my daughter Lisa Wagner best friend for a lot of years. May God see you through this time of great sorrow.

Bill went on a cruise to the South Pole and took the time to send our family a postcard. We loved that about Bill. Mom still has the post card on our kitchen wall.

Your friendship taught us that your love was not given in giant gestures, it was in the small every day kindness that you shared. Billy had a knack for not stressing about things that were outside his control… He was able to simply let things go and not let them bother him. That was extremely admirable and a great lesson for us younger siblings. 🤙

I met Bill in my early 20s, but we didn’t become close friends until we met again in our 40s. Both times, pool was what brought us together.

We often sparred when it came to our favorite sports teams, many times placing drink wagers on the outcomes.

Bill was there for me when my dad passed away. Over the years, Bill and I became what we called “best friends.” I remember us laughing when we both acknowledged it.

I found it surprisingly easy to tell Bill, “I love you, man,” when the moment felt right. For some reason, that was never awkward between us.

So I say to you now, Bill: I love you, man.

I’ll miss you, my friend.
