Thank you for the support Tanya. Your actions 22 years ago still stand out vividly as an act of kindness and solidarity. May you rest in eternal peace.
First and foremost, I want to offer my deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the Rigot Family, Fr Peter and Presvytera Charlotte Staviski, and to Tanya's siblings and extended family. Tanya was one of my three closest friends and my best friend at church. We had in common the difficulties of running boys homes, and the sometimes challenging life of being in a Priest's family. Tanya was pretty, fit, silly, joyful, smart, hard working, the "in charge" type, kind, funny, positive, fun to be with, and loved to laugh! And she had quite a laugh too! I called her my Energizer Bunny". But Tanya was not perfect and was aware of her shortcomings, but always wanted to be a better version of her. She was very free and comfortable with her tears in and out of church. I loved how she was aware of her human side but ALWAYS tried to have a closer relationship with God. Tanya was a faithful church goer even if she had to leave early for work or to make the drive to see her parents- always remembering to save two pieces of Prosphoron to share with them. Years ago, there was a song by a band, Savage Garden, named "Truly, Madly, Deeply". After Tanya's death, I recalled that song and thought that that is exactly how Tanya loved you: truly, madly, deeply. And she especially had that kind of love for her husband, three children, and her grand babies.
Thank you my dear Tanya for helping teach me and others how to do life, love God, and love our fellow man. Memory Eternal.
My name is Cecilia Pace, my husband and I run a treatment center for kids, we were colleagues of Tanya’s. Unfortunately, we just found out this past Thursday that Tanya passed. We were shocked and very saddened to hear this. We are especially sorry that we were not able to be at her funeral services. Several colleagues said the same thing, we all would have loved the opportunity to meet her family and to share our stories of time with Tanya with them. I’m not sure if they will receive this message, so I am hoping that we could get an address of where we could send cards/letters to the family.
My deepest condolences to The Rigot family I will always cherish my memories of Tanya she was spunky and kind soul with a big heart You will be missed deeply Rest in Paradise
