Dirk & Tammy Isaacs
Our family loved Shirlene. She was funny, hospitable, and sooo creative! I remember once when Diana wanted to be a shark for Halloween one year. About 3 p.m., I asked her if her costume was ready, and she "No, but I have time. My mom will help me." And sure enough, Di went home, threw some cardboard and fabric at Shirlene, and told her to make her a shark! Sure enough, an hour or two later, Diana came to the door with a GREAT shark costume! That was typical Shirlene. When she catered our wedding, she asked us what we wanted & how big were the tables; she & Di ended up making us a feast, complete with heart-shaped cheese & a pineapple bird centerpiece! We got more compliments on her food than on the actual wedding! She was always so loving towards our children and so generous to include us in anything we were around for. Erma Bombeck once wrote: "A house is only a place. It has no life of its own. It needs human voices, activity, and laughter to come alive," Shirlene made her home, and our lives, come alive through her warmth, laughter, and love. We were blessed to have known her. May God grant the Waitschies family His peace through the coming days.
