Phyllis Blicha's Obituary
Phyllis Blicha (née Picone), born on June 19, 1924, in Aliquippa, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on September 11, 2024, in Carlsbad, CA. A loving and lively individual, Phyllis was known as an exceptional cook and for her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Over the last four years of her life, she resided in Carlsbad with her daughter and son-in-law, cherishing the time spent with her family.
Phyllis is survived by a loving family, including her son, Stephen; daughter, Melanie; son-in-law, Reif; in California; grandson, Tyler; his wife, Emily; and great-grandson, Leonardo in New York City, granddaughter, Ashton; her husband, Morgan; great-granddaughter, Lucy; and great-grandson, Gunnar, in Allen, TX. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Air Force retiree Steve Blicha.
A devout Catholic, Phyllis's faith played a central role in her life, and she cherished her relationship with the Lord. Her passions extended beyond her family and faith; she and Steve were avid dancers, and had lived in many places including France where they were stationed and travelled extensively before settling in San Bernardino, California.
The funeral services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on September 30, promptly at 1:00 PM. Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino is assisting with the arrangements. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel from 5-6 PM on September 29th. Phyllis's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she made a lasting impact through her warm spirit and loving nature.
