OWEN RICHARD MC GOWAN's Obituary
Owen Richard McGowan, 83, of San Bernardino, CA passed away January 21, 2008 at Redlands Community Hospital. Owen was born in Highland, California and called the San Bernardino area his home for his whole life. Owen was a World War II veteran. He served as a Torpedoman on the USS Heerman (DD-532) Destroyer in the Pacific theatre. Following his military service, Owen worked his way up from an entry level position at the Gas Company until he finally retired as District Engineer after 43 years of service. He was a regular at the San Bernardino Golf Club. Owen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lola McGowan; his children: Richard C (Joumana) McGowan, Linda (Mike) Lee; his sisters: Maxine Stone and Paula McGowan; and his grandchildren: Jacob (Calee), Seth, and Ruthanna; as well as his great grandchild, Audrey. Graveside services are to be held at the Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd., in Riverside on Friday, February 1st, at 10:01 AM where we will meet at Staging Area #5.
