Myra Markus' Obituary
Myra Markus 82, of San Bernardino passed away at her home on February 26, 2008. Originally from Berwyn IL, Myra moved to San Bernardino with her late husband (Hank) in 1954. She attained her Bachelors degree from University of Riverside. She was the Director of the Y.W.C.A. Kiddie Karousel and Pre-school for many years and also worked at Argonnne National Laboratories, Hobart and H.U.D.. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Gate City Chapter #212 and the Shriner’s Widow’s Club. Myra is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Henry J. Markus. Survivors include her daughter Nancy and her husband Steve Turner of Dana Point CA, her sister Claire (Bill) Sabourin of San Clemente, CA; her two nephews and their families Kerry Klipp of Brentwood, CA and Conn Klipp of Moorpark, CA; her brother in law Howard M. Markus (Lois) of Virginia and daughters Nanette, Pam and Carla and their families. A Memorial Service in celebration of Myra’s life will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday March 1, 2008 at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404 followed by a reception also at Bobbitt’s. Inurnment will be private In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to CA Eastern Star Foundation – Scholarship Fund, Grand Chapter of CA OES, 16960 Bastanchury Road, Suite E, Yorba Linda, CA 92886.
