Michael Douglas Boone, 25, of Highland, CA passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 in Highland, CA. Michael is survived by his parents, Doug and Amelia Boone of Highland, sisters, Heather Boone of Highland, Crystal Boone of Roseville, Chauna Thrasher of CA, grandparents, Maria Gonzalez of Fallon, NV and Joyce and Jack Hickey of Roseville, CA. His sister, Heather Boone, recalls many memories of the unique character of Michael Boone. “He was one of a kind with a sly bright smile and sense of humor to light up any dull room.” Mother, Amelia Boone, described the demise of Michael Boone as the end of a golden heart beating. Michael Boone was loved and endeared by many friends and family; all of whom which loved Michael’s carefree nature and tenacious desire for a vibrant life. He will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him as son, brother, uncle, friend, student and artist. After studying college preparatory courses at Crafton Hills Community College, he studied nursing at Concord University. He hoped to heal people with his gentle touch and compassionate disposition. Michael Boone passed his free time creating various drawings and sketches. Michael Boone also loved being in the hillsides of the San Bernardino National Forest either cliff diving in Forest Falls or riding his off-road toys. This is where he truly felt free of the agony he suffered since his traumatic brain injury. In these hills his golden heart stopped beating and his spirit flies free.
