I moved up to North Texas in the middle of fourth or fifth grade in the late nineties and Michael and his family lived over across the street. He introduced me to music I didn't know and aggressive skating that we would practice all the time. He always had my back whenever I was getting picked on or bullied around. He wouldn't stand for that crap going on and I owe him tremendously for that. The summer after sixth grade, him and his family decided to move out to Southern California. My family and his mother agreed to allow me to come with for several weeks before I had to fly back to Texas. We talked on the phone a couple of times after that but lost touch and never spoke again. I searched for him online today only to find what had happened in 2012.
I wanted to send my condolences to his family and loved ones. I was fortunate enough to know his mother, sister and even met his father one time but also know there was other family members that I never met and I am so sorry for your loss. Michael was the most brave man I knew and he never let me down when I needed help. Rest in peace big guy! I'll look you up when I get up there but not yet. Not yet.🕯️❤️🔥
