When I was a young girl, I loved it when I got to go visit my great-grandmother and grandfather, Nanu and Papa Jackson. Their daughter Melva was my grandma and her sister, Mavis, was my great Aunt. I was very poor, so Nanu always sent me home with a perfume or soap or something and that Mavis always gave me her Avon samples and any makeups she didn't like. I loved that! Later after I was an adult I would go visit at Mavis and take her to lunch at Juanita's Mexican food. We got each other a lot of burritos and chatted and had a great time. She was my last link to my dad and great-grandparents and that side of the family. She was feisty and attractive and had a good heart. I will miss her. I loved my Aunt Mavis.
