I saw Grandma Marcy irregularly throughout the years, but every time I encountered her, whether at a family gathering or just visiting on my own I was struck by her humor and grace. Even in times of clamor and confusion she has been a clear bastion of calm and strength. The family that she has forged is as deeply and tightly knit together as any I have seen, and is a constant source of wisdom, laughter, and companionship, one that I rely on greatly in every aspect of my life. That we carry on her legacy with so much liveliness is a testament to the breadth of her character. For me she will always be the kind old lady who lived in a house by the sea. I will miss her.
