LYNDON CLYDE DAVIS's Obituary
Lyndon Davis, 88, old time Texan and “Mr. Fix-It” died New Years Day of natural causes. A farm boy who loved cars, he worked over 40 years in the automotive business, patching post war vehicles with scraps and later maintaining the fire engines for the City of San Bernardino. As a teenager, he joined Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corp, building roads, fighting fires, and developing Lava Beds National Park. He served in the SeaBee branch of the Navy. He married a California girl and spent 50 years serving on the Mental Health Board, growing organic gardens, taking college classes and visiting relatives in Texas. In retirement years, he traced his ancestors to the Revolution, and volunteered at the polls. He was an angel for his cancer-battling wife, Frances. After her death, he moved to Irvine. Conservationist, family man and humanist, Lyndon made friends wherever he went. He is survived by a Texas clan, his daughter, Mary Stephens, his granddaughters Julie Kammerer and Ellen Stephens, and his great grandson, Logan Michael. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Friday January 5 and Mt. View Cemetery. A Celebration of Life party will be held at Atria Lynnbrook Retirement home and #1 Witherspoon in Irvine on Sunday, January 7 at 3:30. ph 949 654 8500.
