Louis Ernest Yeager's Obituary
Louis E. Yeager, 91, passed away at his home in Highland, CA on April 1, 2012. Originally from Lexington, MA, Louis had lived in the San Bernardino area for 49 years. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army Air Corps and worked for the Shell Oil Company for 28 years.
"Lucky Louis" was a WWII fighter pilot, a graduate of Boston University, a businessman, a supporter and leader of numerous charities and community organizations, a San Bernardino school board member, and an avid golfer. Louis always had a kind word and a clever remark for every occasion. He loved all children.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Edith and Joan. He is survived by Frances, his wife of 65 years, and his children Ley (Ofelia) Yeager, Clark (Ingrid) Yeager, Fred (Denise) Yeager, Kurt (Barbara) Yeager, John (Evelyn) Yeager, and Elisabeth (Mike) Marks. Also surviving him are his 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. His family wishes to express sincere thanks to Louis' caregiver Marie Collins.
A private service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery. A memorial celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, CA.
