I was so blessed to have spent my life with Marcey in my family. She was my mom's best friend for 60 years. Mom and Marcey loved going "antiquing," having lunch at Marie Callender's, and gardening. Marcey was a special member of our family. She grew and arranged my wedding bouquet flowers and embroidered a special wedding pillow for us. We were often asking her for her valuable advice about pretty much everything, and especially plants. In our family, if anyone had a question about anything, we would say, " Just call Marcey she'll know." I loved the special, loving friendship that my mom and Marcey shared for most of their lifetimes. Marcey was a huge influence on me, growing up, as I admired her love of plants and animals, her fondness for antiques, her kindness to everyone, her willingness to help others in any situation, her wit ( loved her laugh!) her down-to-earth, female independence, her gentle spirit balanced with a stand-up-for-what's-right attitude too. Marcey was so artistic. She gave my mom so many beautiful hand,-made gifts through the years. She taught me so many crafts and showed me how to do silhouettes for my children and the students in my classroom. Marcey was one of those extra special people who blessed and enriched our lives. I loved her so much.
