Dear Tammy, Kellie and all of Karen Jo’s family -----
While your mother’s death was not a total surprise, it is met with great sadness. However, the sorrow can be tempered with the realization that, except for the last few years, she lived a full and joyous life. And, throughout Karen’s life she tried to spread that joy to all she came in contact with.
Whenever you were in Karen’s “country” you were welcomed with her smile and at least the first line of her current favorite country music song. We were all country blessed for having known her.
People leave our site, but they never really go away. They remain with us as long as there is someone to remember them--and-- just often enough -- they sprinkle a little memory dust on us -- and they are with us again! I know that your family will continue to gather and be joyous and loving . Your minds will go into "rewind" and your memories will allow you fantastic journeys.
J.Lewis and I have followed Karen Jo from the Curve Inn, to Celebrities, to our forever favorite--- the Clover Club, to the Greenbrier, and not for just the great hamburgers but for the great service, long private conversations, and to witness the love and caring that she shared with those in need. I would add that the fruit has not fallen far from the tree.
Tammie and Kellie, My wife Jan and I wish you comfort and remind you that mothers like Karen Jo will always be with us. Forever looking after us, even as “ old kids.“
So I say to our friends,--- let us try to make the very most of each day we have---for soon it is yesterday.--- and since memories are all we own of our yesterdays -------Let us make them good ones !
If you listen closely you can hear Karen saying, “ Don’t miss me too much.---- The view is great and I am doing just fine. --- enjoy !“
Your friends, Dr. Bob and Jan Percy, Jerry and Arlene Lewis
