Very Dear Family of Joan,
I am so sorry for your heartbreak. Through a letter, just found out of your unbelievable loss.
When thinking of her laughter, love and personality, I feel the joy she was, is. She is as solid in my mind, as the surrounding mountains.

I want to thank the family for sharing your mother with so many other children. Ms. Doty taught me TRUST in myslef as a mother, and even more important in my child. The lord blessed my children when they were given Ms. Doty as thier teacher. She helped make my Sheila the wonderful person she is today. She helped me understand that for her to grow I had to let go and she was right. Ms. Doty was a strong women with a big heart and my Sheila and my Steven learned alot from her. What a joy to learn as mother, she reminded me we are never to old to learn. That a good parent has to have trust in themselves and in thier child. I loved working with Joan at Pacific High School. She loved the students and loved teaching. She was such a fun person and I could always get a good laugh out of her. She loved her children and I know you all will really miss her. My prayers are with you and your families. We met Joan and John when our 8 year old sons, Josh and Daniel, were on the same soccer team. She was a joy to be around then and always was. Always fun-loving and smiling. We had a great soccer season that year and she was the reason we did. She will be greatly missed. Our hearts and prayers and condolences go out to her family. My sympathy to the whole family. I remember how much I enjoyed helping in her classroom when Joan worked at Belevedere and was the teacher for my oldest Jenni Beck. Jason was in class with JoAnna and we loved the family. I always enjoyed watching over Josh for Joan when he attended Cajon, (he used to always lose his keys!!) I am sure Joan will be missed by all.
