Mrs Jennie J. Whittaker's Obituary
Jennie J. Whittaker, of Yucaipa, age 78, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on November 10, 2013. She was born in Winamac, Indiana to Charles and Leora Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Whittaker, six siblings and her son in law Steve Claus.
She is survived by her children; Victoria Miner Mills (Tom), Debbie Perkins (Randy), Linda Wellott (Bob), Lori Claus and Doug Whittaker (Kellie); her grandchildren Kenny, Roger, Heather, Wesley, Kayla, Austin, Shyie, Alicia, Robert and six great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her siblings Jimmy Cooper and Ollie Querry, both of Indiana.
Jennie and Doug moved to San Bernardino in 1959 where they raised their children. She worked at Norton and March Air Force Bases where the folks thought she was a fun girl who took great care of their military pay. She later retired from the Department of Defense as a DFAS Accounts Analyst, where she received many awards and accolades for her hard work. She enjoyed making peanut clusters, her famous chicken and dumplings, potato salad, talking on the phone, watching Days of Our Lives and looking out for her neighbors. She brought laughter and joy to the people that came in contact with her.
