Harriett A. Niemeyer's Obituary
Harriett Arnold Niemeyer
Oct. 2nd, 1925 – June 4th, 2019
Harriett lived to age 93 and died peacefully during a celebration of life, held in her honor. She was born and raised in Michigan, met Clarence Niemeyer at Michigan state and they married in 1947. Later they migrated to California. Harriett and Clare built their own home on 1 1/12 acres in San Bernardino. They enjoyed a very loving life together and she spent a rewarding career as a school secretary. She particularly enjoyed camping with Clare all over the world and volunteered at Santa Clause Incorporated (who provided for families in need) for over 60 years. She was their longest living volunteer ever!
Harriett leaves behind four daughters; Carol Niemeyer of Portland, Oregon. Kay Lieberknecht (Mikey) of Ulciah, California, Peggy Mahlstedt (Henry) of Redwood City, California, and Joyce Niemeyer (Leo) of Laguna Wood, California. She is preceded in death by her most beloved husband Clare; one daughter, Diane Gravis of Virginia; and one Son, David Niemeyer of San Bernardino and one granddaughter Tonja Lieberknecht of Ukiah, as well as all four of her beloved siblings and her parents. Harriett leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply.
The Family would like to acknowledge the loving care and dedication given to Harriett by the Villas at San Bernardino Assisted living since 2015, as well as the thorough and kind care of VNA Hospice during the weeks leading up to her death. She will be sincerely missed.
