My beautiful friend, Harriett, was one of the most wonderful and loving people I ever knew. She lit up a room with her beautiful smile. She was loyal and kind and was dearly loved by all who knew her. I had the pleasure of meeting Harriett in the 1980's at Santa Claus, Inc. She was a dedicated volunteer who holds the honorable distinctiion as the organization's longest serving volunteer. Harriett began her incredible volunteer career in 1952 as a seamstress. Throughout the years that she was raising her family she still continued to knit and crochet for Santa Claus. She and Clare were our Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, a position that they dearly loved! I always loved visiting her in her later years when she called to say that she had a "bagfull" of knitted and crocheted items for me to pick up. Harriet befriended my mom when my mom moved to the Villas and didn't know anyone. They became good friends and always shared the bond of Santa Claus, Inc.
On behalf of the Santa Claus, Inc. family, Harriett, you cannot be replaced. You will always be remembered as Mrs. Santa Claus with love and admiration as you rest eternally in the loving arms of Our Lord.
So many trips to California and wonderful visits from my California grandparents. I loved their self designed home and riding in their home on wheels. Card games and knitting were always in the agenda! I hope she came to know Jesus and may God bless us each and all.
