Helen and Family: I am so sorry to hear about Harold. He was a fine man. I remember when Jeff was young, he would tell me, "Kimberly's Grandma and Grandpa are so NICE!" My thoughts and prayers go out to his family . . I was blessed to have him & his wife as regular customers at my work for 6 years ... At least twice a week I was given the pleasure to visit and share pictures of my son with them. He was always smiling and happy even when he wasn't feeling great ! My wish is for my marriage to become like theirs , grow old , be happy and work thru anything god presents us with . Mr. Harold Hoppins, a very honorable man! I worked with Mr. Hoppins in regards to the San Bernardino City Fire Commission; Harold was always interested in doing what was best for his City and its residents. We had a close connection as we both are retired members of the United States Air Force. Remembering Our Fabulous Friend “Hal”
There is no easy way to say goodbye to a dear friend, as it is always difficult. Harold Hoppins (or Hal as most knew him) was just that, a dear friend. His contagious smile and “fabulous” way about him was, like no other, and will be missed by many but also remembered as well.
Hal was what one can say, a truly experienced gentleman. His many stories were varied and came easily when the conversations allowed. He was also a traveled man in his professions and his military experiences were just as interesting as well. Not many have served this country in different services. I will admit, it did take Hal a little longer to finally get it right when left the other branches of the military and finally became an Air Force asset. Now that was fabulous if it ever was.
Although our friendship was steadfast, it was far too short. Having much in common, we enjoyed our discussions about political issues, be they local or national. Opinions like elbows, Hal and I always had a couple and would compare and share them. Always agreeing “we” were right in our thoughts and beliefs. That too was what made Hal so interesting. Our brotherhood of military backgrounds was so different yet so parallel, as was our interest in the wonders of photography. We also shared a lot with our ladies during our friendship and that too was special. From cheep tacos on Tuesday nights to breakfast at Farmer Boys Sunday mornings, all who had the pleasure of knowing him and understanding just how fabulous he really was…will miss Hal.

Dear Mrs. Hoppins and Family,
One of my greatest joys at 4:30 mass on Sunday's was giving a hug to Mr. Hoppins when mass was over. When I would see him in the front row, a huge smile would appear on my face. Everybody loves you both so much. I would smile at the crowd that always surrounded you both after mass. My heart would melt when I would see how much true caring, love, and affection were shared between you Mrs. Hoppins, and Mr. Hoppins. I will miss him so much. Both Carol and I pray that we share that kind of love for all of our days we spend together.
Mr. Hoppins was an angel. He had such a pure spirit and with the love he always showed to all of us, we have a true sense of the love God has for us. Mr. Hoppins was a saint. He truly modeled for all of us the kind of love, caring, and compassion that Jesus told us all to share in this world.
I hope people also remember what a joyful and funny person Mr. Hoppins was. A few years ago he and and I were helping with hospitality and I shared with him about my diabetes. He told me how sometimes just for fun he would drink a soda and watch his sugar go up to 400. He and I laughed and laughed over that.
Mrs. Hoppins, you loved Mr. Hoppins so much and took such great care of him that I hope you will take comfort in knowing that forever you have your own personal guardian angel watching over you.
