Geraldine (Jerri) Ann Younkman's Obituary
Geraldine (Jerri) Ann Garlough Younkman, 86, graduated to glory on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born to William Harris Garlough and Olive Mae Grubbs Garlough on June 16, 1939, in Springfield, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles (Chuck) Lee Younkman, her parents, and her oldest son, Michael Lee Younkman.
Jerri is survived by sons Peter Younkman (Pamela), David Younkman (Michelle), and Christopher Younkman, as well as 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Garlough (Patty), and her sister, Mary Jo Garlough Davis (Ed).
She was a lifelong musician, having majored in music and education at Ohio State University, where she met her husband. Jerri served alongside Chuck on staff in San Bernardino, California, with Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) until his death in 1992. She continued her ministry with CCC, and also studied and graduated from the International School of Theology (ISOT) with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies and a Master of Divinity. For 38 years, Jerri was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church who supported and sent her out as a missionary with the International Mission Board (IMB) with whom she served for eight years in Mexico. Jerri loved reading and studying God’s Word and telling others about Jesus. One of her favorite verses was Psalm 119:105 - “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, California, on August 22 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Rob Zinn will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Jerri requested memorial donations be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Offering of the Southern Baptist Convention, CRU, Fellowship Bible Church Español in Little Rock, Arkansas, or Grace Bible Church in Tremonton, Utah
