We met the Simpkins in the late 1970s at Immanuel. When we moved away after a few years, we continued to exchange Christmas cards and enjoyed so much hearing about their family and the church. What a lovely couple they were! We had not received a card in the past few years so I wondered how she was when I sent her card this year. Thanks to Kim for letting us know. Ron, Doug, Gary, Kim, Rob- My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
If someone asked me to name one person with a "servants heart" it would be your mom. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.
I will never forget the huge Sunday dinners after church at your home. It was a privilege to be a guest, she always made me feel welcome. I dont recall her ever sitting down to eat with us, her priority was to make sure we were all taken care of (sometimes 15-20 of us!!) Those memories were some of the best of my childhood.
I will truly miss her, but know she is now standing tall, in no pain, in the presence of her Lord....she is home.
