Darlene Ann McFadden's Obituary
Darlene McFadden, 81, of Highland, California, was called home to her Heavenly Father on February 1, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with various illnesses. Darlene was born September 18, 1944, to Ardeth and Donald Benedict, in San Bernardino, California. She worked as a secretary for the County of San Bernardino for over thirty years until her retirement in 2008.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husbands George Huckabaa with whom she shared 3 children, her second husband Daniel Propp, her first and then final love Jimmie McFadden, and her daughter Stacey Huckabaa White.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Stotelmyre, sons Chad Huckabaa and his wife Mary Huckabaa, Morgan Huckabaa, son-in-law Harold White, her grandchildren and great grandchildren too numerous to list. Over her lifespan she had many family and friends who's lives she touched in such a positive and loving way.
Darlene was an artist with many talents. Her many mediums included gourds from which she crafted everything imaginable from small jewelry, to purses and even musical instruments. She had the voice of an angel as she sang in the Immanuel Baptist Church Choir for many years. Her love of animals was a passion she carried all her life, always having a few pets around, including birds, cats, dogs, a pot belly pig, and anything living she could care for. She loved to sing and dance, to travel and to spend time with her family and friends. Darlene is gone from this earth, but her legacy will live on and she will not be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 28355 Baseline St.,, Highland, CA on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
