Cynthia (Cici) Tenney's Obituary
Cynthia Tenney (nee Amundson, formerly Taylor) of Highland, California passed away on February 11, 2021 at the age of 75. She is survived by her cousins, Curtis Stock, Victor Stock and Ruth Keyes. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Mabel Amundson and by her older sister, Victoria Granger.
“Cici,” as she was known to friends and family, grew up in Verona, New Jersey. She attended Verona High School and Drew University. She moved to California to pursue a graduate degree in French at the University of California- Riverside and remained in California ever since. She taught the French language at the high school level in both Riverside and San Bernardino and led a study group to France of high school students during her tenure as teacher. Even after retiring, Cici loved teaching French and taught conversational French lessons at the Highland Senior Center where she also served on the Board of Directors.
Cici was an ardent animal lover, a serious gardener, a sponsor of poor and needy children, and a lover of nature. Cici touched many lives and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Highland Senior Center or to your favorite charity in Cici’s name.
Memorial services will be held on April 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel. Services will be live-streamed via the Bobbitt Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
