I have not seen Claude in about 30 years, but he left a lasting impression on me. I was about 20-21 years old around 1970 when I started at Laura Scudders potato chips and my first route was on Mt. Vernon, where no white boy wanted to be then....it didn't matter to me who or where I was at and that's the way I was raised. Embassy Liquor was one of my sales and delivery accounts. Claude made me feel at home and we became friends always talking baseball, boxing, and whatever else. When Clude wasn't there I spent way too much time while working with Pops, Claude's Dad and we would talk Boxing and the Ali years. I remember when Pops had one of the first hip replacements I ever heard of. Later Claude bought Jimmy's Liquor and again he treated me like more than business associates. Claude was a good busness man and took control of his stores and personally checked every item from every delivery...he had a lot of trust in me and never checked me in and knew we both honost people. Both Claude and his Dad I had a lot of respect for and were really good people. We need more people in this world like both of them, especially the way the world is turning now days. Talking to some of Claude's reletives they were just as gracious and nice and all seemed like super people to know.
"I Thank You Claude for being my friend that I never forgot, and sure you will be missed by many. Even seeing your body you still looked great as I rememebr you as your soul is now with the Lord in Heaven".
