Charles Shaul Terrell Jr.'s Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Terrell, Jr., 84, passed away on September 12, 2015 at his home in San Bernardino, CA. Originally from Chicago, Chuck moved to Pasadena in 1943 as an 8th grader and graduated from Bonita High School, Mt Sac, La Verne (BA), San Diego State (MA) and eventually from USC in 1966 with a Doctorate in Education. He worked in the field of education for over forty years; 27 years serving 3 different school districts as Superintendent culminating his career as the County Superintendent of Schools for San Bernardino County and retiring in 1993.
He is survived by Bobbie, his wife of 64 years. Also surviving him are his children Gregory (Catherine) Terrell and Kathy (Hans) Smith along with his grandchildren, Robyn (Dan) Widmer, Michelle (Aaron) Edwards, Alicia Smith, Jilian Smith, Bethany Smith, Leah Smith and his great grandchildren Lars Edwards, Rylie Widmer, Griffin Widmer and Penelope Edwards.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Chuck’s memory to The University of LaVerne, Watson Literacy Center CSUSB, The San Bernardino Symphony, First Presbyterian Church of San Bernardino, or “The Making Hope Happen Foundation” San Bernardino City USD.
Chuck will be laid to rest privately.
