Alta Elizabeth "Betty" Donovan's Obituary
Betty Donovan was born Alta Elizabeth Bowman on August 29, 1916, in Hereford, Texas. She passed peacefully into heaven August 24, 2020, just five days before her 104th birthday.
Betty lived a long life of love and grace, serving in the Immanuel Baptist Church choir for many years, and volunteering weekly for the church office until she was in her nineties.
She was a loving a devoted wife to Hal donovan, who passed away shortly before their 75th wedding anniversary. Together Hal and Betty ran Arrowpines Christian Conference Center for 13 years. Hal and Betty enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and vacationing with life-long friends.
Betty was a dedicated homemaker, and she hosted large, family holiday dinners until her mid-nineties. She made sure to make each one of her family members' favorite dishes.
Her life radiated the love of her lord, and she exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman. Proverbs 31:28&29 says, "Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things but you surpass them all!"
Upon entering heaven , Betty was reunited with many loved ones, including her husband Hal and her great-grandchildren jordan and Kylie. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne and Reggie, and her daughters-in-law, Novita and Jeanie. She is also survived by eight, grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Betty's Celebration of life service will be Tuesday, September 15, at 11 a.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, Ca 92404. Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, Ca 92324
