Wilson J. Franklin's Obituary
Wilson J. Franklin went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday February 17th.
Wilson was born on April 5, 1934 in Holland New York.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Siebert (Gary), three grandchildren, Benjamin (Erica) Siebert, Jessica Siebert, Sarah (Tyler) Allen, seven great grandchildren, E. Henry, Samuel, Margaret, Rosemarie, Noah, Lucas, Wilson and a sister Millie Sharpe.
Wilson is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Clara E. Franklin, his father and mother, James and Gertrude Franklin, sister Janice Franklin and great-granddaughter, Amy Jo Siebert.
Wilson served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. Upon discharge from the Air Force he began work for Bourns Inc. in Riverside California. After 10 years, Wilson took a job at International Weighing Systems (IWS) in Colton California. Wilson wasn’t one to live a sedentary life and began a part time job with the city of San Bernardino as a school crossing guard after his retirement from IWS. During that time he also assisted his wife Clara in the management of a local retirement apartment complex. After Clara’s death Wilson took on the responsibility of management and continued in that position until shortly before his death.
A service of Christian burial will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel at 11 am Tuesday February 21st.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Spirit of Our Savior Lutheran Church in San Bernardino.
