Rosemary, Bill’s family and loved ones. Kim and I am so sorry for your loss. You have been and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
For those of us, many 20 to 30 plus years his junior, Bill was an inspiration, role model and mentor.
Like other role models, mentors and leaders in the Greater San Bernardino area, that I have been blessed to know and call my friend.
The likes of Bill Leonard Sr. aka “Mr. SB”, Duke Hill-“The Duke”, George H Schnarre-“The Godfather”, Bill set an exemplary example by how he lived his life, cared for his family, friends and employees, gave back to his community and always kept his Faith in God and his Church.
I like this poem, I think is appropriate and hope you do to.
Life is but a stopping place
A Pause in what’s to be
A resting place along the road
To sweet eternity
We all have a different journey
Different paths along the way
We are all meant to learn some things
But never meant to stay
Our destination is a place
Far greater than we know
For some the journey’s quicker
For some journey’s slow
And when the journey finally ends
We’ll claim a great reward
And ever lasting peace
Together with the Lord
To Uncle Bill and the little bit of Irish in all of us I say:
I miss you my friend, May the light of heaven always shine on your grave and may the smile of God light you to Glory.
