WILLIAM "BILL" CALVIN HAWKES's Obituary
William “Bill” Hawkes, 90, of San Bernardino, CA passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Bill was born in Dallas, Texas and came to California as a child. His wife Roberta preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his children Cynthia Thompson (John) of San Jose, CA, Edward Hawkes (Margaret) of Bloomington CA, and Nancy Johnstone (Steve) of Minnesota; by 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. During the 1932 Olympics held in Los Angeles, Bill played the slide trombone in the Olympic Band. He was a 32° Mason who belonged to Lodges 178 and 306. Bill was an accountant in the San Bernardino area for over 30 years. To honor Bill’s memory a visitation will be held Thursday April 26th from 4-7pm at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404. Graveside Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Friday April 27th at 10 a.m. at Staging Area #1.
