VIRGINIA “BAM” C. RANDALL
Virginia “Bam” Randall, 92 earned her angel wings' on November 11, 2016. She was born to the late James Henry and Bertha Kelly Cornwall in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 14, 1924. She graduated from Rowland Episcopal Girls School in 1942 and attended the University of Utah before enlisting in the US Navy in 1944. During her two years as a WAVE, she was stationed in San Francisco as a radio operator. After an honorable discharge in 1946, she went to Sun Valley, Idaho to work. There she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Phelps Randall. They were married on November 21, 1947. In 1952 Bob was commissioned as an officer into the United States Air Force. Bam became a military wife and mother. The family traveled all over the United Stated. After Bob’s retirement, they settled in Tucson, Arizona where they resided until Bob’s passing in 1992. Bam then moved to San Diego where she lived for 10 years before moving to San Bernardino.
Bam enjoyed volunteering and was a volunteer at various military hospitals and at Pomerado Hospital in San Diego. She was also involved in the Wife’s Clubs at the various military bases they were stationed in addition to being a member of the Diamond Gateway Woman’s Club in San Diego.
Bam is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Becki) Zeidler, son -in-law Gary of San Bernardino; son Robert P. Randall Jr of Camarillo; son-in-law John P. Favour of Northeast Harbor, Maine; granddaughters Erika A. Steagall of San Bernardino; and Jacqueline N. Randall of Camarillo.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St Bernardino Medical Center Foundation, 2101 N. Waterman, San Bernardino, CA 92404.
Virginia will be laid to rest privately at Riverside National Cemetery.
