Vincent B. De Nava's Obituary
Vincent B. DeNava, known to his family and friends as Chente was born in Los Angeles, Chavez Revine on April 5, 1925. The area known as Palos Verde (P.V.) where Dodger Stadium now sits. He passed away on Feb. 18, 2014 at his home in San Bernardino, CA, with family and friends by his side.
He worked for L.A. Steel Company for 40 years when he retired, but returned to work as a security guard in Ontario, CA.
He could fix anything he got his hands on, from carpentry, mechanic, plumbing, electrical, you name it he could fix it.
Vincent served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 8, 1943 to Jan. 29, 1946 , during WWII and was stationed in New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon.
He loved to travel, going fishing with his brothers and playing at the casinos.
He is survived by his children, Irene DeNava, Alfred DeNava, Mary Altamirano, Dolores Tissel,
10 granchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Louis E. DeNava. He had four sisters, Mary, Cruz Tonia, and Carmen, four brothers, Richard, Robert, John and Albert, and many nieces and nephews.
Dad had a good friend, Mabel Rameriz who took really good care of him until his death. He was a good father, helped anyone he could. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
