Verbal Lonnie Holcomb's Obituary
Verbal L. Holcomb of San Bernardino, California passed quietly at home after a long illness on Monday , November 23, 2009. He is survived by his wife Betty Holcomb, his son Lonnie Holcomb , daughter-in-law Meta Holcomb and grandchildren Stephanie Holcomb, Annemarie Holcomb and Lisa Smith. Great-grand children, Ashton, Elias , Zachery Smith.
He was employed as a manager of operations for the
Colton Cement Company for 29 years.
He served in the U.S. Army Aircorps, flying 27 combat missions over Nazi occupied territory as a tail gunner in a B-17. He was awarded the Air Medal four times in his career.
A memorial service will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 30, 2009 AT 2:00 p.m.
