THOMAS LOGAN DWIGGINS's Obituary
THOMAS LOGAN DWIGGINS, 94, loving husband of Barbara S. Dwiggins for 67 years, passed away on November 28, 2006. Tom was born in Portland, Oregon, July 15, 1912. His parents were Verne and Lena Dwiggins. He attended schools in Oregon and California, graduating from the University of Southern California in 1939 with a degree in Business Administration. Tom was an active Trojan, serving in many USC Service groups, and President of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. In 1948 he was a Charter Member and President of the USC Trojan Alumni Club in San Bernardino. Following Mr. Dwiggins’ service in World War II he studied at the Harvard Graduate Business School in Cambridge, MA. In 1947, Mr. & Mrs. Dwiggins moved to the San Bernardino area where they have lived for 49 years. Mr. Dwiggins was employed by CalTrans for 30 years (10 years in Redding, CA), retiring in 1975 as Deputy District Director of Right-of-Way for the San Bernardino District. He was a member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. Following retirement, the couple traveled extensively around the world, visiting over 60 countries. Mr. Dwiggins is survived by his wife, Barbara, and two children: Diana D. Allen, Stockton, CA, and Donald W. Dwiggins, Anchorage, AK; five grandchildren: Joel and Matthew Allen, Julia Allen Cary; Stacy Dwiggins Berg and Brian Dwiggins; and five great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Malachi, and Lucy Jean Allen; Sarah Jayne Cary; Skylar Berg; plus several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held, Monday, December 4, 2006 at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Funeral Arrangements by Bobbitt Memorial Chapel. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will live in our hearts forever.
