I worked for Dr Hellwig for 4 years and at the time we were deemed as "Hellwigs Angels". I will always be grateful for Dr Hellwig and what he taught me. From fixing all his electronic devices to ordering him his new iphones and making sure they were connected to his bluetooth in his snazzy coupe lol. i appreciate and may you rest in peace. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr Hellwigs passing today. He was my doctor since 1991 (came highly recommended). He always took the time needed and demonstrated exemplary kindness, compassion and a good sense of humor. As he neared retirement I was happy that he gave me a heads up and I didn’t find out via a letter in the mail that he had retired. The advance notice gave me the opportunity to schedule one last follow up visit where I could say goodbye & most importantly thank him for the outstanding care I received as his patient of 30 years. My condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. My only wish is that you would have had him a little longer in his retired years.
I was just informed of Dr. Hellwigs passing at a routine appointment today. He was my physician for over a decade and was extremely instrumental in helping me to get off a feeding tube which I was on for 7 years. While all glory goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He used Dr. Hellwig in a mighty way. I would not be alive had my path never crossed with Dr. Hellwig's. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Hellwig and the dedication he showed to me and all of his patients.
Dear Anne, Losing a parent leaves a space that can never be filled, but I hope you find comfort in knowing how loved and admired your dad was by so many. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Dr Hellwig was not only kind and helpful to his patients, he was kind and helpful to the nurses he worked with! I really enjoyed working with him. He will be missed by so many he touched in his life and career.
