I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr Hellwigs passing today. He was my doctor since 1991 (came highly recommended). He always took the time needed and demonstrated exemplary kindness, compassion and a good sense of humor. As he neared retirement I was happy that he gave me a heads up and I didn’t find out via a letter in the mail that he had retired. The advance notice gave me the opportunity to schedule one last follow up visit where I could say goodbye & most importantly thank him for the outstanding care I received as his patient of 30 years. My condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. My only wish is that you would have had him a little longer in his retired years.
