Stanley Louis Scheidecker's Obituary
Stanley L. Scheidecker, 86, of San Bernardino, CA passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 in San Bernardino. He is survived by his wife Lucy, son, Greg (Joyce) Scheidecker, daughter, Diane Scheidecker, son David (Liz) Scheidecker, Mike (Shirley) Scheidecker, step-sons, Adam (Bonnie) Hall, Danny Hall, David (Carol) Hall, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and brother, Thomas Scheidecker.
After high school graduation in Sandwich, Ill he entered the U.S. Army in 1943 serving during WW II in the European Theatre. Following his discharge in 1946 he met his first wife Violet and they were married in 1947 and established their home in CA. along with their 4 children. Stan was an avid stock car driver, champion, owner and spectator having attended having attended hundreds of races. His high light of his career was the opportunity to race at the Daytona Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL. In 1973 he met and married Lucy, his current wife of 37 years . Along with her children, they worked side by side building a metal recycle business which they continued doing until 2008. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Child Cancer Foundation of Southern CA, Inc., P.O. Box 1663 Loma Linda, CA. 92354.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Private interment services will be at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA at a later date.
