ZIGGY WAS A TRUE FRIEND, ONE OF A KIND. WHEN I HAD MY UP AND DOWN

My heart goes out to your family. My grandma, Carolyn Ellis, lived next door to Siggy for many years. After my grandfather died, my grandma was alone in the house and was so fortunate to have Siggy and her husband right there to help her when she needed them. Carolyn enjoyed walks with Siggy around the neighborhood and they looked forward to their In N Out dates so much!
After my grandma moved into assisted living, my husband and I bought her house and moved in with our toddlers. Siggy was so welcoming and I was so glad to exchange phone numbers with her to try and give back to her the kind of unwavering support she always had for my grandma. We commiserated about power outages, neighbors and windstorms. She was always fun to talk to.
Siggy always got my kids Advent calendars in December, and she just loved to do little thoughtful things for them. Like bring them McDonald's apple pies for a special out-of-the-blue treat.
When my 3rd baby was born, Siggy went out of her way to get a special new layette for her and always made sure to ask about the kids every time I saw her. When my kids saw her driving up the street, Siggy always had a smile and a wave for them.
I know she had a lot of pain to deal with from her illness, but she handled it with grace and still found time to chat. We'll miss Siggy a lot. She was a wonderful person and we're fortunate to have known her.
Dear Aunt Sigrid,
I am so sorry to hear about your death - and I am sure that you are at a good place now. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Thanks that I had the chance to get to know you.
Very sincerely and in loving memory, your niece Cordelia from Germany (with family).
