To the entire Shaw family, I send my deepest sympathies for your loss. I loved Shirley, and I so wanted to be at her celebration of life, but I had to deal with issues concerning my own mom, who is now on home hospice care. Grandma Shaw lived an incredible life. She lived for her family, wherever they were. Growing up, she was always at any graduation or celebration my brother or I had. She was always willing to come see her family in Colorado and always made me feel loved. One thing I will always remember is Grandma twiddling her thumbs. I saw her SOOO often doing that! I've caught myself doing the same thing at times, and I immediately think of her. I will always remember her when I'm twiddling my thumbs. Grandma, your love, your smile and your presence will be missed. But I know that your energy will live on. God will let us hug again one day. I love you, Grandma Shaw.
Mom was this mighty woman whom we all drew our strength from. She made a giant impact on my life and the lives of others. She wasn't just a Mother-In-Law, she was Mom to me. I know she will be cheering us on as always, from Heaven's Balcony and will never leave us.

At eighty six years young, mom was truly the example of grace and love to all of us. Her family was her pride and joy, as she was our pride and joy. Her passion for life lives on in each and every one of us. I thank God I had the opportunity to listen and learn from her for so many wonderful years. I know she watches over all of us, and in her own way, she will let us know that she will always be there, nudging, whispering and guiding us through our life experiences. I will miss her presence.
