Rowena Briggs Charlton's Obituary
Rowena was born February 22, 1916 in Washington UT. She was a resident of San Bernardino since 1921 and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on December 3, 2009 at the age of 93 in Yucaipa. Rowena was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Rowena attended warm Springs Elementary School, graduated from San Bernardino High School and in 1938 attended San Bernardino Valley College where she met Thomas Charlton. They were married on June 26, 1938 and were married 54 years before he passed away in 1992.
Rowena worked as an accountant during World War II for the United States Army Engineers.
Rowena leaves behind two daughters; Donna Lorson (Francis) and Sandra Young (Fred), her grandchildren Ronald Lorson, Thomas Lorson, John Lorson, Christopher Young and Tawnya Elrod and nine great-grandchildren.
Rowena will be greatly missed by all of her family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Yucaipa Christian Church 12954 Bryant St. Yucaipa, CA 92399 with a graveside service the same day at 2pm at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St. Colton CA.
