Rosemary Strickland's Obituary
Rosalie "Rosemary" Rachel Strickland (née Chapman), 85, entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2024, in San Bernardino, California. Born on the April 29, 1939, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, she was the youngest daughter of the late Ona and Noah Chapman. Rosemary was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine.
Rosemary is survived by her devoted husband, Gilbert Strickland. Rosemary and Gilbert were lifelong companions of 71 years and had four beloved children: Cindy (Rick), Michael (Lisa), Kristin (Brett), and Jan (Matt). Rosemary leaves behind a legacy of eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom she cherished deeply. She treasured her dear friend Janet who preceded her in death; her son Danny, wife Deanna, and their son Jax always brought a smile to her face.
A woman of faith and boundless love, Rosemary dedicated her life to her family and to the service of others. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all. Rosemary's unwavering spirit and gracious heart will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
In honor of Rosemary's lifelong commitment to charity, the family kindly asks that any memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org). You can dedicate your donation in Rosemary’s name. From there you can then select to have it electronically sent to [email protected]. These donations will serve as a tribute to Rosemary's enduring kindness and her passion for helping children in need and the less fortunate.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the knowledge that Rosemary has found peace. May her memory be a blessing and may we carry forward her legacy of love and kindness in our own lives.
