ROSE RAMIREZ PALOMINO's Obituary
Beloved Rose was born on September 4, 1927. Although she ventured up and down the state, she lived in San Bernardino all her life. In fact her permanent residence was 1048 “L” Street, just about ten blocks north of the house she was born in. Rose will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The road she traveled was full of ups and downs. Raising eleven children was definitely a challenge. She did, however, try her best to support, nurture and love these children, most often as a single parent. Her kitchen was always open and she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her fresh tortillas were simply wonderful and her award winning menudo would draw crowds. The foods she prepared with love will be sorely missed. Grandma Rose prayed her rosary daily. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, St. Anne’s Church and many other catholic churches in between. She was busy all the time but when she did relax, she enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching shows such as Perry Mason and going out dancing. She was crazy about her scores of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting them and vice a versa. Rose is preceded in death by her son, John and husband Gilbert. She is survived by two brothers, Pete Ramirez (Rialto), Alberto Ramirez (San Bernardino) and two sisters, Lupe Garcia (San Bernardino) and Lucy Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas). She is also survived by her children, Gilbert Palomino, Jr., (S. B.), Frank Palomino (Grand Terrace), Martin Palomino (San Francisco), David Palomino (S. B.), Edward Palomino (S. B.), Jose Palomino (Rialto), Connie Palomino (San Ramon), Cecilia Lopez (Santa Maria), Rose M. Palomino (S. B.) and Johna Palomino (S. B.). She had 36 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is also survived by long time companion, Rigoberto Acevedo. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 5 – 7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1430 W. 5th Street, San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery.
