Paul Scott
I knew and served under LtCol Z at USAFA in the early 80’s as a 2Lt. He was an unconventional officer, but one of those few who made the greatest impact on my approach to being a career officer for 20+ years. A better mentor I never found. His greatest gift to me was to put me in positions to learn and fail. And when I did fail he always took the time to dissect “what happened “, and learn from it. He was fiercely loyal to his young officers. I’ve wondered over the years what happened to him and found this today. I’m saddened for the families loss. Proud and glad I knew this man.
