Ronald Barrie Owens' Obituary
Major Ronald Barrie Owens was born December 8, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ronald was a student in the Tulsa Public School System and attended Dunbar Elementary, Carver Junior High and Booker T. Washington High School. In January 1963, he graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. In February 1963, he joined the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant and retired, at the rank of Major, in May 1984.
His second career was with California’s County of San Bernardino, where he spent 20 years as an Assistant Risk Manager and retired in June 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Katie Owens; his three siblings, Barbara, Theodore Jr., and Charles; nephew, Nathan Owens Smith; and niece, Janet Marie Smith.
Ronald leaves to forever cherish his memory, his wife of 38 years, Patsy, whom he met at Langley AFB, VA and married on February 14, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. Their six children: Veronica (Michael) Morgan of Colleyville, TX; Detrice (Carlos) Rojas of Arlington, TX; Ronald (Tresondria) Fields of Houston, TX; Monya (Larry) Jones of Colton, CA; Robert Hill of Arlington, TX; and Regina (Clifford) Bryant of Grand Prairie, TX. They are blessed with 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hattie Reid (Fontana, CA); three nephews, Samuel P. (Diane) Smith, Jr. ; Don Emmanuel Smith; John Albert (Prima) Smith Sr.; and five nieces, Angela Jean Camp; Barbara Ann (Tyrone) Guillory; Lorna June Seymore; Laura Smith; and Sallie Annett Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
