Ron Hannold's Obituary
Roland Hannold, born on April 20, 1936, died Friday, June 5, 2020.
Ron, as he was known, went in foster care after his mom died. At 17, he forged his age and joined the U.S. Air Force. While on leave from French morocco he married the love of his life, Joan Hamilton. They knew each other as young kids, riding bikes and playing hide and seek. They were married 64 years.
Ron was stationed in many places around the world as a career veteran. He spent 20 years in intelligence and retired in 1972 at Norton AFB. He then went to work for R.N. Buckwalter becoming vice president and retiring with another 20 years.
Ron and Joan lived life to the fullest, traveling the United States in their travel trailer and square dancing. He was master of ceremonies at Death Valley for the 49ers, over 10 years. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club and a faithful member of Highland Congregational Church. He was an avid golfer, crafter and always full of corny dad jokes. He could never pass a child without waving and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was the most respectful nicest person you could ever meet.
He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy and brother Hank. He is survived by his brothers George, Denny, Don and sister Sally; his children Randy and Robin, grandson Jeffrey and his wife Joan.
