My son and I met Bob a couple of years ago and we became real close, especially to my son-Neil. I admire Bob in his service to our veterans as I have worked closely with him at the Riverside National Cemetery. A lot of us will miss this great and caring man. We met Bob and Nonie at our first Boo reunion and became friends. We were impressed at how closse they were and thoughtful of each other. Bob was a founding member of the association and was tireless in his eforts to make the reunions fun and memorable for all the attendees. I knew Bob from my earliest contact with the Caribou Association (while Nick Evanish was still President). Bob was a guy who faced every problem head on and never minced his words. If he said he had your back, he had your back. It was truly an honor to have served in the same Air Force with him and to have had him as a friend. He will be greatly missed, especially by the members of the C-7A Caribou Association.

Bob and Nonie became extended family to Ray and I. Ray and Bob drove to Palmdale to work at Lockheed every day for about 7 years and formed a very close bond. We enjoyed many Pienochle evenings together. When Ray passed away they hosted the gathering after his funeral. Bob was someone we could continue a conversation with the next time we saw him. The last time I talked with him he asked if "his airplane", the C-7a Caribou, was still at Hill AFB. I assured him it was along with the pedistal for the plaque that he built and brought up here. He said "I'm so proud of that". He was truly a Veteran's advocate. Andy and I will miss his friendship.

Bob had a great love and spirit for his fellow Vets. Bob was a great supporter of the Riverside National Cemetery as well as a careing voulenteer at the V.A. hospital. Bob will be missed by many, many people. The world became a little dimmer and heaven became a little brighter when Bob left us.##imported-begin##John Paton##imported-end##
