Robert Harald Haberkorn's Obituary
Robert Harald Haberkorn, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 6th. He was born June 30, 1948 in San Bernardino where he was raised, attended school and went on to raise his own family. Rob was preceded in death by his father Judge Harold Haberkorn, his mother Ruth Haberkorn and his sister Penny Comstock. He is survived by former spouse Marion, son Dr. Robert Haberkorn, daughter Diana Haberkorn, grandchildren Anyssa (Jesse) and Michael (Elaine). Rob graduated from CSUSB with a BA in psychology. He went on to work for the San Bernardino County probation department for 20 years. Rob was a cherished father, grandfather (Papa) and friend to everyone he met. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to support the community, a friend or even a stranger. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren little lessons every opportunity he had. He imparted life skills, outdoor skills, how to fix things around the house and nature facts. He taught them to be curious, ask questions, know their strength, and always try to do what was right. Throughout his life he had a deep love of nature and animals. His spoiled pets and horses he cared for, would attest to that. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, gardening and body surfing in the ocean. His favorite hobbies were creating things through woodworking and working on cars. Ultimately, his children and grandchildren were his true pride and joy. He will be deeply missed.
