Richard Eugene Young's Obituary
Richard Eugene Young died peacefully at home on March13, 2025. Richard was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, where he lived until he joined the United States Air Force. He served for 20 years and retired at the rank of Major. After retiring from the USAF, Richard was a real estate broker. He then was called to the ministry and served as senior pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship San Bernardino until retiring in 2022.
Richard met his wife, Martha Carol McMindes, at a swimming pool in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and they were married in France. After 65 years of marriage, Martha went to be with the Lord in 2021. They had two children, Diane Larson of San Bernardino, CA and David C. Young of Nancy, KY, as well as two grandchildren, Terra Richardson and David M. Young of Kentucky.
Richard was a kind, generous and loving pastor, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing games of all varieties, and spending time at the beach.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Diane Larson, and husband Jeffrey and his son David C. Young, as well as his granddaughter, Terra Richardson, and husband Aaron of Kentucky, his grandson, David M. Young, and wife April of Kentucky, his sister, Virginia Young Johnson, and husband Edward of California, his brother, David E. Young, and wife Dorene of Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews, namely Ellen Young, Hannah (Vicki) Johnson, William Young of Maryland, Janet Scire of Maryland, jenny Ramsburg of Maryland, Stan Johnson, Andrew Johnson of California, and Charles Lynch of Oklahoma.
