Mr Richard Howard Garot's Obituary
Richard H. Garot, (Rich) 81, of San Bernardino, Ca, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Redlands, Ca. Rich was born in Chicago, Illinois to Howard and Helen Garot on February 11, 1939, the eldest of four children. His family moved to San Bernardino in 1955 where Rich graduated from Pacific High School in 1956. He worked a variety of jobs and became a skilled craftsman in many areas including designing and building swimming pools. He married Marlene Krutzberg in September 1961. Together they had five children. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, his estranged wife, and grandson, Zachary Page.
Rich is survived by his adult children: Christina Garot, Paul Garot, Connie (Thomas, deceased) Page, Cari (Jim) Bizzell, and Catherine (Bill) Krausert, brothers James (Diana) Garot, Kenneth (Patricia) Garot and sister, Karen Garot. His grandchildren include Matthew Garot, Maggie Page, Emily Bizzell, Erica Bizzell, James Bizzell, Patrick Garot and Taylor Garot. He has ten great grandchildren.
Rich will long be remembered for all the good deeds he performed for others while practicing the golden rule. He enjoyed creating stained glass windows, maintaining bonsai plants and tending to his garden of tomatoes, fruit trees and peppers. He enjoyed the many hummingbirds that would visit his never empty feeders. He was a man who had so many talents and skills and enjoyed woodworking, stone and cement work.
No formal services will be held.
