Richard R. Chartier's Obituary
Richard R. Chartier, 73, of San Bernardino passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 in Fontana. Beloved husband, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; daughter, Michelle Chartier; brother, Douglas Chartier; sister-in-law, Barbara Ganter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Richard was born June 1, 1941 in New York City to Ray and Maria Chartier. He moved to Redlands when he was young and graduated from Redlands High in 1959. Richard earned an AA degree from San Bernardino Valley College, a BA from UCR, and a MA in psychology from Cal State L.A. He taught at Valley College and went on to be a Deputy Director for the San Bernardino County Headstart/State Pre-school program. After an early retirement Richard went on to run his own tax business for 24 years, Inland Tax Service. He loved working with computers and technology, he also loved to sing.
