Phyllis Jean Hankla's Obituary
Phyllis Jean Hankla, a long-time resident of San Bernardino, California died at the Redlands Care Center on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 after a long illness with kidney disease. Mrs. Hankla was born August 14, 1930 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to William George Muller and Faye (Gould) Muller. She began school in Santa Fe, and moved with her parents to San Bernardino when she was fourteen. She graduated from high school in San Bernardino in1948 and began working for the Kress Department Store until her marriage to Thomas Daniel Hankla in July, 1967. One child, Pamela Faye Hankla was born to this marriage on February 14, 1971. Phyllis was a long-standing member of the Emanuel Methodist Church of San Bernardino. Her mother, father, and husband predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela of San Bernardnio and one cousin, Ann Dakan of Centennial , Colorado. A visitation for Phyllis will be held at Sunday, August 9, 2015 starting at 3:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. both at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. View Cemetery immediately following the service. Donations can be made in her name to Emanuel Methodist Church of San Bernardino.
