Mr. Phillip Michael Woods' Obituary
After a 16-month courageous battle with cancer, Phillip Michael Woods died on August 23, 2020 in Redlands, CA at the age of 48 surrounded by family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Toni Woods; his daughter, Kaitlyn Woods; and his son Jace Woods.
Phil was born on May 7, 1972 in Pomona, CA to Carol Woods, who predeceased him. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1990 and then graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration from Cal State San Bernardino. Phil worked at Southern California Edison as a Planning Senior Specialist.
Phil was a dedicated husband and father. Phil and Toni married on August 12, 2000. He spent many hours driving Katie to soccer practice and soccer games and enjoyed being the manager to her club soccer team. He shared Jace’s passion for football. He always made sure Jace had the best equipment and spent many hours taking Jace to trainings, practices, and games. Phil enjoyed watching and attending Charger games with his family and friends!
When Phil was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer he said he would fight hard for his family and that is just what he did. He remained positive, brave, and fought every single day.
Phil will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery. We would like to thank USC Cancer Norris Center for their fight alongside Phil. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in memory of Phillip Woods to support the cancer research of Dr. Heinz-Josef Lenz at the USCE Norris, Development Office, 1441 Eastlake Avenue, Suite 8302, Los Angeles, CA 90089-9181 or www.uscnorris.com/support.
